Elves and more in 2024

A SALADO CHRISTMAS brought us lots of fun and excitement with a visit from Buddy the Elf (Grant Flynn), who passed out candy to the audience guests while dancing around the auditorium and on stage while we sang an "Elf" medley. The audience got a real treat hearing from Christian Wigley as he yodeled his "Cowgirl for Christmas". The ladies chorus tested their tongues with "Jing-A-Ling, Jing-A-Ling", with Jeannine Conners providing the solo pieces. We really heated up the stage with the pace of that number! The men's chorus made everyone feel jolly with "Holly Jolly Christmas", accompanied by some of the women playing kazoos. This chorus has many talented individuals, which was further exhibited by Lezlie Mann and Christian Wigley as they sang "A Hallelujah Christmas", Allison Terry, singing "O, Holy Night", Bruce Anderson as soloist with the Harmonix singing "O Come All Ye Faithful", Tim Flanagan as soloist on "Who's the Little Baby", Lezlie Mann as soloist for "Where's the Line to See Jesus", and Karen Jacobson, Laura Roasa, and Sherrie Fritz singing the special pieces on "Sleep Little Lion, Sleep Little Lamb". Jan Doke, Russel Cox, and Dean Mooney gave us a BAH-HUMBUG side of Christmas as they soloed in "Don't Sing Another Fa La La!".
The Chorus as a whole performed many of the above numbers, plus "Christmas on Broadway", an a capella arrangement of "O Christmas Tree", "Jamaican Noel", and "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen", accompanied by the very talented Meghan Dunagan. Dr. David Albee always does a fantastic job accompanying the chorus, plus he provides a wonderful appetizer arrangement as we begin our concerts.
We had Tessie Ajala and Floyd Lesiker as guest percussionists on "A Jamaican Noel".
Jim Buchanan provided another exceptional narration for the concert.
Our concerts are always full of fun, and filled with songs presented by voices of people in this community and surrounding areas who love to sing, and love to provide enjoyment to our audience. Dottie Shirley, our Director, and Dr. David Albee, our accompanist, as well as the whole chorus, work hard to make our concerts exciting, uplifting, and enjoyable. If you have not attended a concert, please join us for the Spring Concert on May 6th, at 7 PM at the First Baptist Church of Salado, TX.
